BREW NEWS – NOVEMBER 2015 – BRIDGING IDEAS, BRIDGING TASTE

Taproom

Mike has been busy brewing as always and has a line up of some new suds to sip!  First in line will be Stuff It Holiday Amber, available November 1st and just in time for The Big Day!  This beer is no turkey. Its a perfect fit for all things Thanksgiving and Fall. There’s 100 pounds of wild rice in the blend. Told you it’s a fit for Thanksgiving! But the wild rice is not a true rice, but rather more closely related to grass and gives this amber deliciousness a nutty and earthy flavor.

Next in the line up is Wenceslas Wheat Wine which will be available after November 7th. Legend has it that Good King Wenceslas faced cold wild weather to bring alms to the poor. And maybe he even had ale to bring to the thirsty on the Feast of St. Stephen. We may not have our legends right, but there was cold, there was winter, and there was a good man. So lets raise our pints of golden and citrus aroma Wenceslas Wheat Wine to the good king!

Come try Double Wood Strong Ale!

Six barrels on a truck in front of the DeLille Cellars winery chateau. Six Barrels on a truck in front of Narrows Brewing Company. What do a winery and a brewery have in common? Well, there’s a connection between the two libation producers and the magic in those barrels just had to be used by both! The French Oak imparts sought after qualities to wine and can also have an affect on beer. Head brewer, Mike Davis, wanted to try barrel aging ale and the final product is our Double Wood Strong Ale! The barrel aging provided a nice hint of wine and wood which is a nice accompaniment to the straightforward malt and hop profile. This one is smooth. This one is dangerous. 11.5% ABV
